“Red Notice 2” (2025)

After its record-breaking debut in 2021, Red Notice set the stage for Netflix’s most ambitious action franchise. Now, in 2025, the long-awaited sequel Red Notice 2 has finally arrived — and it’s louder, slicker, and even more outrageous than its predecessor.

Returning with their signature mix of charm, chaos, and criminal genius are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. The trio once again proves that their chemistry — equal parts banter, betrayal, and backstabbing — is the real treasure.

Red Notice 2 picks up two years after the events of the first film, with Nolan Booth (Reynolds), Sarah Black aka "The Bishop" (Gadot), and Agent-turned-thief John Hartley (Johnson) now partners in crime — or so they think.

When a mysterious billionaire art dealer vanishes in Rome, along with a priceless 18th-century relic known as “The Crown of Constantine,” the trio is drawn into a new heist that spans five countries, two double-crosses, and one world-threatening conspiracy.

The twist? They're not the only ones after the crown. A rival crew led by the cunning and brutal Viktor Kassov (played by Pedro Pascal) is one step ahead, and willing to burn the world to get what they want.

From a high-speed gondola chase in Venice to a zero-gravity heist aboard a private space shuttle, Red Notice 2 takes the “international art theft” genre to dizzying new heights.

Directed once again by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the sequel retains the tone of the original: a mix of globe-trotting action and irreverent humor. But this time, there’s more emotional weight behind the glitz. Booth’s obsession with proving he’s “the best thief in the world” starts to crack under pressure. Hartley struggles with loyalty versus survival. And The Bishop? She’s playing a game none of them fully understand.

Gal Gadot dominates every scene she’s in, blending elegance and ruthlessness with ease. Reynolds is at his wisecracking best, but shows more vulnerability this time around. And Johnson, ever the rock, grounds the chaos with his muscular gravitas — and surprisingly dry wit.

Critics are already calling Red Notice 2 “a guilty pleasure done right” and “a turbo-charged cocktail of Ocean’s Eleven, Indiana Jones, and Fast & Furious.” Netflix spared no expense this time, reportedly investing over $200 million in production, exotic locations, and wild set pieces.

The final act — involving a heist inside the Louvre during a blackout — is already being hailed as one of the best action sequences of the decade.

And yes, there’s a post-credits scene. And yes, it sets up Red Notice 3.
