In the heart of a forgotten village in central Java, a young urban archaeologist named Arman returns to his ancestral home after receiving a mysterious letter from his late grandfather. The letter speaks of a "Pusaka" — a sacred heirloom hidden beneath the house, said to protect the bloodline but cursed if misused. Intrigued and skeptical, Arman begins digging into his family's past, only to discover that the Pusaka is not just a relic, but a sealed spirit that has protected and haunted his lineage for centuries.
As strange events begin unfolding — whispers in the night, shadow figures in the mirror, and villagers who suddenly turn hostile — Arman is forced to confront the truth behind the heirloom. His grandfather had bound the Pusaka with a ritual that required a blood sacrifice every generation. With the chain broken since his death, the spirit is now awakening, unleashing its wrath upon the village. Desperate for answers, Arman seeks the help of a dukun (shaman) who warns that the Pusaka is no longer a guardian, but a vengeful judge reclaiming what was once owed.
As Arman unearths old diaries and rituals hidden beneath floorboards, he learns that his family once betrayed a powerful mountain spirit in exchange for protection and wealth. The Pusaka was the binding object, forged from a nail that sealed the spirit into the earth. To stop the curse from spreading, Arman must complete a forgotten ritual — but doing so would mean sacrificing either his own life or that of someone bearing the family blood. Torn between saving himself and protecting the innocent, he grapples with guilt, destiny, and the price of legacy.
In the film’s harrowing climax, the village is consumed by chaos. Possessed villagers, ancestral visions, and collapsing land mark the final hours before the spirit breaks free. Arman, wounded and breathless, finally performs the ritual with help from his estranged sister, offering the nail to the earth one last time while whispering an apology in Javanese. The ground stills. The wind dies. And the Pusaka is silent. As dawn rises, only a few remain. The village has paid its debt. Arman, changed forever, walks away—not as a survivor, but as the last guardian of a legacy that should never have existed.
