The Walking Dead: Reclamation (2025) picks up five years after the fall of the Commonwealth. The dead still roam. The world is still fractured. But the living… they’ve begun to rise again — some to rebuild, others to dominate.

Rick Grimes is back. And the war for the future has begun.

The story begins with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), having escaped the CRM (Civic Republic Military), now living in isolation in the ruins of Philadelphia. Scarred, haunted, and hunted, Rick believes reuniting with his family is impossible — until a mysterious traveler finds him: Leah, a former CRM pilot who carries something vital — a map showing Alexandria still stands.

Meanwhile, in the north, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) lead a united colony of Hilltop and Alexandria survivors, struggling to maintain peace in a time when silence means survival. Supplies are scarce, new variants of the undead are emerging — faster, smarter — and old alliances are breaking under pressure.

A new enemy rises: The Chain, a militarized cult that believes the dead are holy, and that humanity must “chain itself to the will of the rot.” Their leader? A brutal prophet known only as Silas, once a CRM experiment himself, now determined to infect every settlement with his twisted gospel.

Rick’s journey south is perilous, encountering walkers that move in near-silent swarms and whisper-like predators that have evolved beyond simple shambling. But he also meets a new generation of survivors — including Maya, a young woman born after the fall, who has never seen a world without the dead. She joins Rick, drawn to his quiet strength and his haunted stories.

Back at Alexandria, Michonne (Danai Gurira) returns with survivors from the west — people fleeing from Chain attacks. With Rick’s map reaching Carol, Daryl sets out alone to find him, retracing the old highways once filled with blood and ashes.

When Rick and Daryl reunite — unexpectedly and fiercely — it’s a moment long awaited by fans. They embrace like brothers. But their joy is short-lived. The Chain has set its sights on Alexandria, and they’re bringing thousands of “blessed” — a chained army of walkers led by fanatics ready to die for the cause.

Alexandria braces for war. The survivors build walls, dig trenches, and prepare for one last stand. Old faces return — Aaron, Lydia, RJ, Judith, and even Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), now a scarred mentor to younger fighters. His uneasy truce with Maggie still simmers, but both understand: survival first, reckoning later.

Silas broadcasts a message on stolen frequencies:
"The old world is dead. Let it rot. We are the Chain. And you will kneel."

The battle begins under moonlight. Walkers crash against the walls. The Chain’s soldiers scream prayers as they ignite oil pits and storm the gates. Rick leads the defense. Michonne and Carol hold the line. Daryl moves through the chaos like a ghost, taking down leaders.

In a brutal final confrontation, Rick faces Silas, who reveals the truth: he was once part of the same program that "saved" Rick. They are both relics of war — but only one believes in hope. With Maya’s help, Rick kills Silas by luring him into a pit of flaming walkers — poetic justice for a man who worshipped the dead.

The battle is won, but not without loss. The walls are scorched. Many are dead. But Alexandria stands.

Rick, standing in the sunrise with Michonne, looks out at the community planting seeds. Children laugh in the background. The dead still roam the world — but here, life is reclaiming its ground.

A voiceover from Rick closes the film:

"We thought the world ended. But it didn’t. It changed. And so did we. We walk with the dead behind us — and the future in front of us."
