When her employers, Adrian Lovell (Joseph Fiennes) and Hector Álvarez (Gael García Bernal), learned of the child, they saw it as a threat. The Mother fled, choosing to disappear for the sake of her baby’s life.

Zoe (Lucy Paez) is now a 12-year-old girl living a peaceful life with her adoptive parents in Ohio. She knows nothing of her biological mother or her dark past. But the illusion of safety shatters when Zoe is abducted by armed men linked to Lovell’s cartel.
