The Godfather 4 (2025) – A New Bloodline
Directed by: Denis Villeneuve
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Al Pacino (voice), Michael Imperioli
Forty years after the fall of Michael Corleone, a new name emerges in the underworld — Dante Valerio, a war-hardened former enforcer with a mysterious past and blood ties to the legendary Corleone family. The trailer for The Godfather 4 opens with a haunting monologue by an aged voice — that of Michael Corleone, echoing through dusty halls of a forgotten Sicilian estate:
“Power is not inherited. It’s claimed. And it always comes with a price.”
The scene cuts to a weathered Sylvester Stallone, portraying Dante Valerio, standing at the grave of Michael Corleone. He places a single black rose on the stone, before walking away into the fog of Sicily — the land where it all began.
Dante Valerio, once a feared figure in South American cartels, has returned to Italy after years in exile. Now older, more calculating, he seeks not just to settle old debts — but to rebuild the Corleone name into a global force. Rumors swirl that he is the illegitimate son of Sonny Corleone, hidden away after a secret affair during the family's peak years.
But the world has changed. Organized crime has gone digital. The families that once ruled New York are now either dead, imprisoned, or legitimate. Valerio isn’t interested in casinos or unions — he’s after tech empires, cryptocurrency syndicates, and the arms trade buried beneath corporate fronts.
Assisting him is Rafael Corleone (played by Oscar Isaac), a brilliant but morally torn hacker and distant descendant of Connie Corleone. Rafael represents the future — smart, sophisticated, but uncertain of the legacy his name carries. Caught between the shadow of his family's history and Dante’s brutal vision for the future, Rafael must decide: rebuild the empire, or bury it forever.
Dante’s rise threatens the existing global criminal elite — a syndicate of tech moguls and data brokers led by the enigmatic Sofia Chen (Zendaya), whose family once warred with the Corleones in the '80s. Unlike the bloody battles of the past, Sofia fights with code, drones, and secrets bought from world governments.
As Dante makes ruthless moves — silencing rivals, buying off senators, and staging a cyber-attack that collapses Wall Street for 12 hours — law enforcement begins to close in. The FBI launches Operation Ghostfather, a covert mission to capture Dante and dismantle what they believe is the rebirth of the old mafia under a new name: The Network.
In the trailer’s most intense moment, Stallone's Dante, bloodied and stoic, looks into the camera after surviving an ambush. He says:
"I’m not Michael. I don’t ask for loyalty. I take it."
Explosions rock a skyscraper as gunmen rappel down its glass windows. In Sicily, an underground vault is uncovered containing letters from Michael Corleone — letters that reveal his regrets, his secrets, and the existence of a plan to resurrect the family if the world ever needed a Corleone again.
The Godfather 4 is not just about crime — it’s about legacy, redemption, and the cost of empire. Dante Valerio is no mere gangster — he’s a man shaped by violence, betrayal, and a desire to be more than just a shadow. In a world run by faceless algorithms and billionaires, he chooses the old ways: loyalty, fear, and family.
The trailer ends with Dante lighting a cigar, watching the city skyline from a balcony. Rafael steps beside him and says, “They’ll come for us.”
Dante replies, “Let them. We’re Corleones.”
