Before the rise of the Antichrist… there was a beginning. Rome, 1971. Amidst political unrest and spiritual uncertainty, Margaret Dwyer, a young American novitiate, arrives at the ancient Roman convent of Santa Luisa. Bright-eyed and full of conviction, Margaret believes she has found her true calling within the Church. But as she settles into her new life, strange occurrences begin to plague the convent — eerie whispers echo through the stone halls, birds fall dead from the sky, and one of the sisters goes mad after carving ominous symbols into the chapel floor.
Margaret is assigned to work under Sister Silvia, a stern woman whose cold demeanor masks a hidden fear. Through forbidden books and cryptic encounters, Margaret uncovers a disturbing truth: the Church is hiding something — something ancient and evil, long prophesied. She begins to see visions of a child — not yet born — whose arrival has been foretold for centuries. A child with no father, no soul, and no mercy.
As Margaret investigates further, she meets Father Gabriel Spoleto, a disillusioned priest and Vatican scholar. Gabriel reveals the existence of a secret sect within the Church called "The Watchers," whose mission is to ensure that the Antichrist’s birth proceeds — under the illusion of holy destiny. To her horror, Margaret realizes that she has been chosen — not to prevent the evil, but to become the mother of it.
Haunted by terrifying visions, betrayal, and the loss of her faith, Margaret is faced with an impossible decision: submit to the ancient prophecy and give birth to a child destined to destroy the world, or defy the will of centuries-old forces — and risk her life doing so. As the night of conception approaches, and rituals unfold in the hidden catacombs beneath the convent, Margaret wages a desperate battle against the forces of darkness, the corruption of the Church, and the evil growing inside her.
