After two hilarious, globe-trotting adventures, Nick and Audrey Spitz are set to return in the highly anticipated Murder Mystery 3, expected to arrive in late 2025. Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston once again take the lead in what promises to be another chaotic, comedic, and clue-filled escapade.
The third installment picks up right where Murder Mystery 2 left off: aboard a helicopter mid-flight—pilotless, cash-filled, and spiraling out of control. Somehow (because this is the Spitzes we’re talking about), they survive the crash… but the money doesn’t. And worse, someone is framing them for stealing it.
This time, the setting shifts to South America, where the couple finds themselves on the run, trying to clear their names while untangling a new whodunnit involving a billionaire tech mogul, a missing AI prototype, and a murder that happens during a live-streamed jungle retreat. Think: high-tech meets high tension.
What makes Murder Mystery 3 particularly exciting is how it continues to evolve the Spitzes' arc. No longer just amateur sleuths, Nick and Audrey are now semi-professional detectives—running a struggling private eye business back in New York (with hilarious results). But the big leagues call again, and soon they’re dodging drones, deciphering encrypted files, and once again pretending they have any idea what they’re doing.
Fans can expect the return of some fan-favorite characters—possibly Inspector Delacroix or the eccentric Maharajah—as well as new over-the-top suspects, celebrity cameos, and of course, another twisting, turning murder mystery that only the Spitzes could accidentally solve.
Tonally, Murder Mystery 3 continues the franchise’s signature blend of Agatha Christie-style structure with goofy Sandler-style humor. The chemistry between Sandler and Aniston remains the franchise’s strongest asset, combining genuine heart with perfectly timed one-liners.
If this third film sticks the landing, it could easily become the most fun and ambitious entry yet—expanding the stakes while keeping the charm. Whether they’re crashing weddings, fleeing explosions, or interrogating influencers, one thing’s for sure: the Spitzes may not be the best detectives, but they’re definitely the most entertaining.
