Logan 2: The Last Hope is a powerful continuation of the story that redefined the superhero genre. Set years after the death of Logan, the Wolverine, this film follows Laura Kinney, his cloned daughter, as she walks the fine line between vengeance and redemption in a world that has forgotten what it means to be a hero.
It’s the year 2032. The world has moved on from mutants. After the events of Logan, mutantkind remains nearly extinct, scattered in remote places, hunted or hidden. Laura Kinney, now in her early 20s, lives under a false identity in a small Canadian town near the border. She works as a mechanic, keeps to herself, and avoids any use of her powers.
But peace never lasts.
One day, Laura is ambushed by a rogue paramilitary unit calling itself The Purifiers—a radical anti-mutant faction that emerged from the ashes of Transigen’s fall. She survives the attack, but her cover is blown. In the chaos, she discovers that The Purifiers have been capturing children rumored to be mutants, transporting them to a hidden experimental facility.
Before he dies, one of the mercenaries whispers a name: "The Eden Protocol."
Haunted by memories of Logan and the burden of his legacy, Laura knows she can't run anymore.
While tracking the Purifiers’ movements, Laura crosses paths with Elias Creed, a government-backed mutant tracker and enhanced soldier. Elias is ruthless, focused, and believes that mutant powers are dangerous to the future of humanity. Unknown to Laura, Elias is a former subject of a failed X-24 variant program—once a child of Transigen himself, turned into their perfect weapon.
Meanwhile, Laura finds allies in unexpected places. Gabriela's niece, Sofia, an empathic mutant with the ability to soothe pain and read emotional memories, joins her. Sofia has been rescuing young mutants in secret, offering them sanctuary in an underground network of safe houses, inspired by the old stories of Charles Xavier and the X-Men.
Through Sofia's memories, Laura reconnects to her own humanity—and her grief. Flashbacks of Logan, Professor X, and her early days resurface. She wears Logan's dog tags around her neck, a reminder of what he gave up so she could live.
The trail leads Laura and Sofia to what remains of Eden—once a mythical safe haven for mutant children, now a destroyed base covered in snow and silence. But underground, something stirs. The Purifiers have built a hidden laboratory beneath the ruins. Here, they’re not just experimenting—they’re attempting to create a virus that suppresses the X-gene permanently.
Laura infiltrates the base alone, cutting through the defenses with the raw fury of her father’s DNA, but with the precision and restraint she's learned over the years. Inside, she finds a chamber of mutant children in cryostasis—some with powers more dangerous than ever recorded.
Then Elias Creed arrives.
In the climactic battle, Laura and Elias clash in brutal hand-to-hand combat. He taunts her with visions of Logan, saying she’s nothing but a clone of a failed weapon. But Laura counters, “I’m not a clone. I’m his daughter.”
She defeats Elias, but spares him—choosing mercy over revenge. Her restraint inspires one of the young mutants, a boy with kinetic energy abilities, to break free and help destroy the base.
As the lab crumbles, Laura rescues the children and escapes into the forest. In the aftermath, she burns Logan’s dog tags in a symbolic farewell, saying goodbye to the man who gave her life by giving up his.
Months later, Laura, Sofia, and the rescued children establish a new sanctuary in the north—a real Eden, this time. One not of legends, but of lived truth. The film ends with Laura standing on a mountain ridge, overlooking the sunrise. She says in voiceover:
"They tried to erase us. But they forgot something... We heal."
In the distance, we hear echoes of a familiar sound—the snikt of adamantium claws unsheathing. Not from Logan… but from the next generation.
