Blade (2025) – Bloodlines Reforged
Genre: Supernatural Action | Horror | Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
Directed by: Yann Demange
Starring: Mahershala Ali, Mia Goth, Kit Harington, Delroy Lindo
In Blade (2025), the night is darker than ever, and something ancient is stirring beneath the surface of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the veil between humanity and monsters growing thinner, the Daywalker returns—not as a hunter of vampires, but as a reluctant protector of a world that doesn’t know it’s already under siege.
Eric Brooks, a.k.a. Blade (Mahershala Ali), lives in the shadows of Europe, far from the war-torn streets of his early battles. After dismantling the last of the vampire syndicates in Eastern Europe, Blade has grown colder, quieter, and more isolated. But the calm is shattered when he’s approached by Dane Whitman (Kit Harington), a man wielding the cursed Ebony Blade and haunted by visions of a vampire apocalypse.
Dane brings disturbing news: a vampire cult known as The Crimson Church is rising, performing ancient rites to awaken Varnae, the First Vampire — a god-like primordial being long thought extinct. His return would mark the end of the living age and the rebirth of the Night Empire.
Blade, who has always believed himself to be the predator in the dark, now finds himself hunted by an enemy older and stronger than any he’s faced. The Crimson Church is not just reviving Varnae — they need Blade’s blood to complete the ritual. As a Daywalker — half-human, half-vampire — he is the key to merging the vampire and human realms into a single nightmare kingdom.
To stop them, Blade must face his own origins — returning to the ruins of the facility where he was born, where he uncovers secrets about his mother’s death, and disturbing truths about how he became what he is. He begins to question: Was he made to destroy vampires… or to lead them?
Allies in the Shadows
Joining Blade on his mission is Lilith (Mia Goth), a mysterious sorceress who claims to be an outcast of the Crimson Church and a daughter of Varnae himself. With eerie powers and unknown loyalties, she walks a fine line between ally and threat. Blade doesn’t trust her, but he needs her forbidden knowledge of blood magic to prevent Varnae’s awakening.
Also aiding Blade is Hannibal Fortis (Delroy Lindo), a former vampire hunter turned archivist, who provides ancient texts and modern tech to track down the cult’s hidden sanctuaries across Morocco, Istanbul, and the catacombs of Paris.
Together, this uneasy alliance chases rumors and relics, battling vampire hybrids, ancient guardians, and rogue hunters who see Blade as both savior and curse.
The Rising
As the ritual nears completion during a rare total lunar eclipse, the Crimson Church reveals its final gambit: they’ve captured Dane Whitman, and plan to merge the Ebony Blade’s curse with Blade’s blood, creating a vessel strong enough to contain Varnae’s soul.
In a harrowing assault on the Church’s fortress — a floating temple built into the side of a Himalayan glacier — Blade must confront not only the cult but the monster inside himself. With the Ebony Blade in one hand and his silver katana in the other, he battles Varnae’s avatar in a stunning sequence that blends martial arts, sorcery, and gothic horror.
Climax and Aftermath
In the end, Blade chooses not to kill Varnae the old way — but to absorb his soul into himself, using Lilith’s magic to lock the vampire god inside his own cursed blood. It's a sacrifice and a risk, for now Blade carries the darkness of two monsters within him.
Lilith disappears in the aftermath, whispering that Blade may one day need her again — and that he’s no longer just a hunter. He’s a warden, guarding the gate between humanity and extinction.
Back in London, Dane Whitman is recovering, training under Blade’s guidance, and hinting at the formation of something larger — a supernatural team, a Midnight Sons alliance.
In a smoky alley in New Orleans, a man with a wide-brimmed hat and glowing red eyes lights a cigarette. A voice offscreen says:
“You think you’re the only one protecting the dark corners of the world?”
It’s Ghost Rider.
The dark Marvel Universe is awakening.
